How do I search for books in the catalog?

Answer

To find books in the library catalog, go to the library's homepage. The search box is front and center. There are tabs to search books, articles, videos, E-Books, and the Salve Archives. Make sure you’re on the “Books” tab, and type your search words, title, or author. If you have trouble finding what you need, ask a librarian.

On the results page, you can refine your search by using the menu on the left side of the screen. The catalog defaults to showing books at Salve and our HELIN partner libraries. You can also click boxes to see only books at Salve or books at libraries worldwide. You can also select the format that you prefer; print or e-book.

If we don’t have the book you’re looking for, we may be able to order it from another library and have it sent here. You can request this by using the "Request from HELIN" or "Request thru Interlibrary Loan" buttons in the catalog.
