Why is the library too cold or hot?

Reason for temperature fluctuations in library.

Answer

Books need to be stored at a certain temperature/humidity level to preserve them and prevent mold, etc., which is why some parts of the library are colder than others. We suggest bringing an extra sweater or blanket if you like to study on a floor that is cooler.

If a floor, room or area is too hot, please let library staff know and we will contact Facilities (library temperature is not controlled in the library but from another building).
