How do I place a hold request on a book?

How do I request a book from another HELIN library?

Answer

If you have found a book in our catalog but the book is not held by our library, you may be able to request the book from another HELIN library (HELIN is a consortium of academic libraries in Rhode Island that share resources). If the book is available at one of these libraries, the catalog record for the book will say "At HELIN Libraries." To request the book, first click on the title to go to the full book catalog record. Then click the button on the righthand side that says "Request from HELIN."

You can then fill out the request with information about where you would like to pick the book up.

Please note that only physical books may be requested from a HELIN library. Unfortunately, we are not able to borrow ebooks from other libraries.
