Why is my account blocked?

Why can’t I place an ILL request? Why can’t I place a hold request? Why can’t I renew my books?

Answer

If you are trying to place an interlibrary loan (ILL) request, renew your books online, or place a hold request and you are unable to submit the request, it is possible that your library account has expired. An expired account is usually due to one of the following reasons:

  • If you are a graduate student and have not enrolled in classes, OR recently enrolled in classes after taking a semester off
  • If you are adjunct faculty and have not taught a course at Salve recently, OR are not scheduled to teach courses for  the current semester
  • If you have recently graduated from Salve and have not signed up for an Alumni account
  • In the specific case of online renewals being denied, you may have exceeded the renewal limit for item you are trying to renew.

The good news is, we can fix it! Please contact us by phone at (401) 341-2291, or in-person, and we will be happy to help you get your library account up and running again.
