How do I download an eBook?
Answer
The library makes full ebooks available to download through two platforms: ProQuest - Ebook Central and eBooks on EBSCOhost. Many ebook providers also offer chapter downloads in pdf format. Downloading the chapters that you need in pdf format may be easier than going through the several steps required to download a whole book at once. Some ebooks may limit the number of pages that can be downloaded, and this is determined by the book's publisher.
To download a full ebook from Proquest or Ebsco, you need to do two things:
1) Set up an individual account with the ebook provider. (This account is not automatically set up as part of your borrowing privileges at the library; note that the library does not keep records of individual accounts to third party websites, so keep your username and password in a safe place as we are unable to retrieve it if you forget or lose the information.)
2) Have a device with the appropriate e-reader software installed.
