How do I access the library's databases/online resources if I'm not on campus?
Why can't I get the full text of this article even if I should have access to it through Salve?
Answer
In order to access the library's databases, journals, eBooks and other online resources when you are not on campus, you need to start your search from the library's website, library.salve.edu. You can then access articles from our:
When you click on an item for access from the catalog, or to use our databases, you may be prompted to login with your Salve credentials (full Salve email address and email password).
Once you are logged in, you'll be able to access the full text of articles from our databases and read ebooks online that Salve owns.
You may still get some articles in your search results to which we do not have full-text access. However, if you click on the option to Find Full Text/Interlibrary Loan, most of our databases will fill in all the information you need to submit an interlibrary loan request.
In most of our databases, you can also limit your search to bring back only full-text access results.
If there is an article you want to which we do not have full text access, you can request it via Interlibrary Loan.
If you're still having trouble accessing the full text of articles, stop by the library, contact us via email, text, or chat or make a virtual appointment with a librarian--we're happy to help.
